There are many styles and techniques for video editing! Learn the main ones and create exciting stories.
Think about editing already at the shooting stage.
You need to start thinking about editing already at the stage of script writing. This will help you decide in advance how the video will look and what kind of reaction it should evoke from viewers. This approach simplifies the editing process, because you already imagine what your video should be like.
Consider camera angles and positions.
Determine how the video will begin and end, as well as the key points of the story. For longer cutscenes, you can create a simple edit sheet and write technical details for all scenes.

When everything is thought out in advance, the process will go faster, and you will not spend a lot of time editing.
Tool selection.
There are many different possibilities when it comes to editing, and you don’t have to spend a lot of money. Writers often start with free online or offline editors. Others buy more advanced software.
Do you need a simple app to quickly edit videos? Or do you yearn to become an expert in editing and devote a lot of time to it? Everything depends on you.
As you gain experience, you will know whether to purchase a more complex video editor.
Before deciding to buy, consider the following points:
Budget.
In addition to free apps, there are many programs for less than $ 100. Applications for more complex projects start at $ 250. But you can use a free trial or discounts.
Equipment.
What do you use for shooting: smartphone, DSLR or professional camcorder? Are you shooting in SD or HD format? Check out the specifications of the app, find out what types of cameras and file formats they support. Remember to check the system requirements of your computer.
Functions.
Even inexpensive software has many features such as color or saturation correction. High-cost applications offer more options, such as creating a shared project in the cloud or customising your workspace.
Thank you for the tips. I’m currently looking for free video editing software, are you recommending any specific one?

To be honest, I use not free software, I prefer Premiere Pro, and I used to edit in Davinci.

I only use iMovie, but I really agree with ‘think about editing while you’re shooting’! Things like waiting for the camera to focus on what you’re talking about before you start talking or if you stumble, stop, pause, and then start the sentence again! It makes it all so much easier!
